tl;dr: We're hiring for a Community and Events Manager – somebody to grow and nurture SUPERRR's communities, organise events and hold space for people to come together in person to imagine and build towards diverse and just futures. Apply by March 9th 2025!
Where: Berlin, Germany.
Starting date: 01.04. 2025 or later
Contract term: 12 months with prospect of extension
Working hours: 24 hours/week (60%)
Salary according to TV-ÖD Bund 12/1
Who we are and who we are looking for:
We are SUPERRR Lab, a non-profit feminist organization based in Berlin that works towards a just and inclusive digital future, using foresight methods, advocacy work and community building.
SUPERRR started as a community meetup and has evolved over the years into a larger organization with connections to various other communities. With this position, we are bringing together and consolidating different parts of our community work that have emerged as part of various projects. We‘re looking for a person who can take a holistic view of these different parts, and develop a strategy that meets both the organizational mission and goals of SUPERRR, and the needs of these different communities.
An important part of SUPERRR's work is our events, from multi-day conferences to recurring digital formats that target parts of our community(ies). For this, we are looking for a person who is great with logistics and people, and can juggle lots of tasks.
Examples of our events:
Feminist Tech Evenings
Digital Futures Gathering 2022
Futures workshops and workshop series with partner organizations
Panel discussions on network policy topics, e.g. public digital spaces or digital fairness
Community meetups in Berlin or as part of conferences
You will work closely with our project managers and our Communications Lead to drive forward community and event work at SUPERRR, and you'll be on site in the office in Neukölln two to three days a week.
Your event-focused tasks:
Event planning and organization with everything that goes with it: location, catering, accessibility & safety concept, ticket platform
Communication with contractors (room rental, catering, technology, etc.)
Travel booking, logistics and information for participants
Evaluation of event formats at SUPERRR: Who do we reach, what do our guests expect from SUPERRR, what should we do differently?
Development of new event concepts with our own budget
Developing event policies that are in line with the values of our organization
Working closely with the communication and operations team members and project managers
In 2025, we received funding from the Oak Foundation to organize a follow-up event to our Digital Futures Gathering 2022 - a gathering that brought together more than 50 independent researchers, activists and civil society practitioners to co-create strategies for a more just and sustainable digital future. This year's Digital Futures Gathering will focus on the topic of “Digital Violence” and will take place in Berlin in September 2025. The logistical and planning support of the project manager will be your first big task, which will allow you to develop and test many basic policies for further SUPERRR events.
Your community-focused tasks:
Taking stock of the different communities around SUPERRR and their communication channels (mailing lists, Slack, Signal groups)
Developing and implementing a community strategy in collaboration with the team members
Interface for communication with the communities: how can we nurture and listen to these communities, and how can we hold space for and with them? How can we prioritise what areas we focus on, and how can we work together?
Support for communication team members in social media work regarding community-related outreach
This position is a test run for us that you can actively help shape. If funding allows, we will make it permanent if possible.
Your skills:
You have a good command of written and spoken German and English
You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position
You have a talent for communication and are good at listening to and working with people from different communities, contexts and cultures.
You are creative and enthusiastic about organizing and building community.
You‘re fantastic at organisation, love to structure your work independently and are very good at keeping an overview, even when things get busy.
The following qualities make you a good fit for our team:
You approach new tasks with motivation, think along with others and lend a hand.
You are keen to work with a diverse team to grow our community and engage with people from other organisations and movements.
You're excited by the values of SUPERRR Lab.
Are you interested?
Then send us the following application documents to jobs@superrr.net by March 9, 2025 (you are welcome to apply in English or in German.)

Tell us about an event you have organized in the past: What was it about, what are you particularly proud of? How did you respond to the different needs of the participants?
Please do not include your photo, date of birth, marital status or copies of certificates.
