Building Political Imagination

Building upon our Futures Literacy for Civil Society work that started in 2024, and the Political Imagination Toolkit that launched in early 2025, we’re continuing our work of cultivating our abilities to envision futures of joy, liberation and safety.

We’re creating brave spaces where people can feel seen and heard, fostering connections and community, and facilitating the conditions whereby people can build and nurture their political imaginations. There are so many potential directions in which digital technologies could be developed –  depending on whose needs are prioritised, whose voices are heard (and whose are ignored) and what values lie beneath. We believe it is more important than ever to cultivate our capacity to dream together, across disciplines and cultures. In our work we include researchers, artists, grassroots initiatives and many more, to come together to create viable and desirable alternatives to the projected reality we have before us.

To do this, we use the tools developed in the Political Imagination Toolkit; we invite speakers to inspire us; and we hold workshops and cultivate community around these topics.
